He studied harmony, counterpoint, fugue, composition, and orchestration at the Conservatory of Barcelona, where he also earned his degree as a professional guitarist. He later expanded his compositional studies during a year-long residence in London under the guidance of Michael Finnissy and David Matthews, and further refined his craft through seminars with composers such as Helmut Lachenmann and José Luis López López.
Alongside his classical background, he trained in choral conducting at the Institut Llongueres, the FCEC (Federació Catalana d’Entitats Corals), and the Canford Summer School in England. His dedication to the medium earned him the Carlos III University of Madrid Prize for Choral Composition.
A versatile composer, he has engaged extensively with music for screen, attending courses led by figures including Ángel Illarramendi, Edesio Alejandro, Bruno Coulais, Patrick Doyle, and Conrado Xalabarder. To date, he has composed scores—and, in select projects, handled sound post-production—for ten short films.
His choral and chamber compositions have been featured in prestigious concert series and festivals worldwide, including the Carnegie Mellon Contemporary Series (USA), the Besançon Choral Music Festival (France), Festival Mosaïque (France), the Spanish Music Festival of León, Juventuts Musicals (Mallorca and Lleida), the SIRGA Festival of Contemporary Music, and Festival Avui Música (Barcelona). His music has been performed by international ensembles and choirs such as the Pittsburgh Contemporary Ensemble (USA), Sphera Ensemble (Valencia), Sigma Trio (Barcelona), Solistes de la OBC (Barcelona), Vela Saxophone Quartet, Kamerkoor Pur Sang (Netherlands), Toctet (Netherlands), and Coral Euterpe (Italy).
His works are published by Real Musical, Clivis, and Dinsic, and have been broadcast on Radio 2 (Radio Nacional de España) and Radio 4 (Radio Nacional de Catalunya). He frequently collaborates with performers, ensembles, and organizations, including the SCIC (Secretariat de Corals Infantils de Catalunya) and Editorial Barcanova.
In addition to composing, he completed professional sound engineering studies at Microfusa in Barcelona. Since 2008, he has worked as a producer and sound engineer specializing in classical music recordings—both with En Situ and at his own studio, Calafell Sound. He also served as secretary of the Associació Catalana de Compositors from 2016 to 2020.
